Kids are losing the free play that used to build skill, and organized basketball has not replaced it. Sessions here are structured like practice and conditioned like a park run: repetition, a defender, a clock, and decisions made in a split second.
The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine consensus statement reports a greater than 2 to 1 increase in injury rate when organized play displaces free play, and that 88% of Olympians played more than one sport as children. Read the statement
